They decided to close early. Kept us waiting a couple of minutes then offered to only serve some of the menu. Will never ever ever come here again.
Hospitality is very difficult at the moment because of staff shortages due to covid. You arrived late in the night, in fact 4 hours after we opened for service, and we had already done a full service with the limited staff that we have. The kitchen had already cleaned up and were looking forward to going home after a very long day. We did offer you main courses, but you chose not to take up the offer. Our staff are our livelihood and had already done a long day and we need to support them and we need them back the next day. I note your frustration, as I am sure everything else in town was closed, perhaps apart from Northbridge, if you had tried there.

Dined here on a Saturday night where the only option was a $100 5-course meal. First available booking was 8.30 but on the day was able to change it to 5.30 only to spend the next two hours looking at no less than 6 empty tables. Service was impeccable but food sadly substandard. First course of prawn and ocean trout tartare was universally acclaimed as the dish of the night being a refreshing seafood delight. The soup was pedestrian; the chicken very dry, and the chocolate dessert very, very rich. It feels as though Friends has been caught in a time warp and sadly left behind in the wake of the renaissance of extraordinarily talented chefs currently servicing the city.

I need to point out that we spread the table bookings out over the length of the service time as we are unable to serve all tables at the same time, whether that be in terms of front of house service or in the kitchen. There is an acute shortage of staff in Perth at the moment. Disappointed that you disliked our restaurant as we endeavour to please everybody and that is our primary goal.
5 star for service and ambiance, perfect for a romantic meal. Staff were very welcoming and attentive but not intrusive. We had the degustation menu which was delicious but the dessert was disappointing. There was an extra charge for the sticky date pudding but it was tasteless and looked like it had been microwaved, there was no body to it or any debt of flavour. The scallops described on the menu was from a previous menu. We felt for a degustation menu everything should have been included in the price. However we would recommend this restaurant for the overall experience
There is very good reason why the sticky date pudding was disappointing. That is because it was a soufflé, a sticky date soufflé which is just a take on the before mentioned dish. Because of your timing for your proposal of marriage the soufflé waited some time before you got around to eating it. Therefore it went flat. Due to your misunderstanding of the dish I must stand up for our chef and for a dessert that has been very successful and popular for us.
We are very disappointed in this review, especially after giving you a plate to take home (that you requested to take, a $40 plate) with the words "My Lala, will you marry me" on it, as a keepsake.
With respect to everything being included in the price, for $100 you got a 5 course dinner and 3 of those courses had 3 choices per course. You chose to order the item that had a clearly marked surcharge for an item that takes considerable work and skill.
Overated. Fish was slightly over cooked, portions were too small. Sides were not suggested for the small portions. Plates were cold which led to food becoming cold too quickly.
From the first time we entered the restaurant we received outstanding service, delicious food and well worth a visit for a special occasion. You wont be disappointed
