“stay here”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2012

I was supposed to stay here for a week or two but I had a change in plans so I only stayed one night. The staff were really accommodating, welcoming, friendly. The atmosphere was great - the bar was smaller than I expected but it was cosy and it meant everyone chatted. I ate there and the food was fine. Staff again were great.
A very clean place - the theatre room is v cool. Didn't have time to try the gym etc unfortunately. Rooms were of good size, I stayed on the 3rd floor and didn't have any problems with the train noise. It is pricier than some other hostels but with a YHA card not too bad at all.

Room Tip: top floor is probably best

We stayed in a family room and found it good value for money, it was ensuite and towels and soap were provided, we also had a tv in the room. The children loved the swimming pool. The facilities were great and the staff were very helpful.

Really clean and big hostel. Even though you might need to book far in advance as the place - as everywhere else in Perth - gets fully booked every night. You need something like a week before at minimum.
Common areas are great and big. Several small lounges, an internet place with excellent connection (need to buy credit - 8 dollars for a full day). Rooms are clean and big enough with lockers (bring your own padlock). It's next to the central shopping area and close to the nightlife activity. Great place.

Stayed in January with a friend initially in a 4 bed room but changed to a private twin. Hostel is large with plenty of space however there are a lot of long term guests which gives it a feel of a workers place not really a travelers place. People in our room were up at 5 am for work then they all arrive back at 5pm onwards and all congregate in the kitchen etc. The people staying long term are friendly but obviously lots of them know each other and it feels quite clicky. Staff are nice and helpful.
Not one of the best YHA I have stayed in but you could do worse!
