Very positive 18 day stay for us.

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 17 Feb 2023via mobile
Our stay exceeded my expectations given reviews of dirty linen, apartment etc and unhelpful staff. We experienced none of this and in fact would highlight the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We had a couple of questions and they always responded quickly and appropriately. We stayed in a one bedroom on the 7th floor with a large balcony and fabulous view of the ocean. It was nice to be a short block away from the West Coast Highway for noise reasons yet a short walk to the beach and all other amenities of Scarborough. We paid for the underground parking and I would highly recommend this as part of the nightly rate, especially in the summer season. One ongoing issue was the WIFI. I had to resign in pretty much everyday and a couple of times during the day. Once established, it worked well. I will definitely book this place when we visit our son and his family again in the future.

We booked 10 nights but ducked down the the Margaret River for 2 nights in the middle of our stay.
Overall the place was easy to find and navigate and located close enough the beach and restaurants, bars and shops (2 minute walk) but far enough away so we didn't get the noise from said Bars & restaurant's.

Only thing is the blinds in the main living room could be heavier as we had an east facing room and morning sun lit the place up.

We spent three nights over Xmas at the Ramada which is best described as an interesting experience.
Things started poorly. Post confirming arrival at midday, we got put back to 245pm - and upon check in we were informed we somehow had booked two rooms instead of one. Odd…. Thanks to the staff who sorted the issue.
Post this start, things definitely improved. Our room did not have a view, it did face east over the neighbouring buildings, but it was a blessing in the afternoon out of the sun. The large balcony was excellent.
The room was well maintained and did include air conditioning. One large room and one was pretty small but okay.
The location was awesome being close to Scarborough beach and amenities - massive plus to be honest. Security parking and visitor parking was on offer as well.
For a busy location it was pretty quiet and late checkout was great as well.
On the negative;
- the haunted elevator was odd - expect a long wait
- no streaming on the TV but you can pay for movies?? Seriously outdated behaviour.
- bathroom shampoo, hand wash etc in a security container?? Tight arse behaviour and not enough to use for a family of 4
Ultimately, weighing everything up, the place was middle of the road. Good and bad.
I read a lot of reviews on here and they are way way too critical for mind.
Big thank you to the staff as well. Absolute great people who were always smiling and tried to help where necessary.

The hotel was very generous with an early check in before 2pm but then it was all downhill
The parking bays are narrow and not suited for big cars
We were promised and booked 4 spots they only gave us 3 so one car had to find a spot in the street
I waited 30 minutes for bath towels to be delivered to my room and had to recall to remind them
When delivered they were beach towels and only 3 of them as they said there was a linen problem
The room was a 2 bedroom apartment with according to the booking a king sized bed it might have been a double and very hard
There was no air conditioning in our room so they had an old free standing fan which is poor
No smart tv and you had only normal commercial tv channels
Overall a very poorly organised hotel
It looked great but do not book thereo

Thanks for your feedback. Sorry for the towels situation and the car bay. I'm saddened that you didn't appreciate the room upgrade that we have provided.

If you are travelling with a family, think twice before booking here. We booked an ocean view room and instead got a building balcony view to the complex surrounding us. We requested 2 bathrooms to only get one. The place was filthy, bugs in the fridge, blood on the pillows and in an unsafe location for kids (two blocks from the beach). We had booked for a week and checked out after the first night.

Hotel was shabby for how new it it is,
First of all the room stank of cigarette smoke from the resident who was housed next door, the smell kept wafting underneath the door into our room, despite him being told numerous times he wasn’t allowed to smoke in there, they seemed to just ignore it.
We lifted back the pillowcases and we found mould in them. The curtain pull rod was broken and just sitting on the window ledge , the drawers in the cupboard are cheap ikea type which just were broken, there was visible mould on the white silicon In the bathroom , the air vents in the bathroom was filthy and grimy to the point when you had a shower it would fly off and stick to the door from the steam, the tv had a poor little set top box that didn’t really do much , the hot water lasted about 5 minutes. We stayed one night out of 7 in that room and asked for a different room which was better but only just , same dirty air vents and broken draws, thankfully no mould on the pillows this time round, staff were kind and apologetic about it however, signs on lift said did not need to use swipe card up until 7 pm which was not the case.( not that it matters to much ) guest laundry washers were full of staff cleaning cloths and not emptied . They did leave us a bottle of wine probably to bribe us as to not leave a bad review.
The beds were fairly comfortable despite the other issues. But I do think they need to lift there game in the cleanliness area as it was below average for a modern hotel of this type.
Especially in Covid times.
I’m not saying it was horrendous but stay here at your own peril.
