We spent three nights over Xmas at the Ramada which is best described as an interesting experience.
Things started poorly. Post confirming arrival at midday, we got put back to 245pm - and upon check in we were informed we somehow had booked two rooms instead of one. Odd…. Thanks to the staff who sorted the issue.
Post this start, things definitely improved. Our room did not have a view, it did face east over the neighbouring buildings, but it was a blessing in the afternoon out of the sun. The large balcony was excellent.
The room was well maintained and did include air conditioning. One large room and one was pretty small but okay.
The location was awesome being close to Scarborough beach and amenities - massive plus to be honest. Security parking and visitor parking was on offer as well.
For a busy location it was pretty quiet and late checkout was great as well.
On the negative;
- the haunted elevator was odd - expect a long wait
- no streaming on the TV but you can pay for movies?? Seriously outdated behaviour.
- bathroom shampoo, hand wash etc in a security container?? Tight arse behaviour and not enough to use for a family of 4
Ultimately, weighing everything up, the place was middle of the road. Good and bad.
I read a lot of reviews on here and they are way way too critical for mind.
Big thank you to the staff as well. Absolute great people who were always smiling and tried to help where necessary.
