When visiting family in Mt Lawley it took only a few minutes walk to reach a park and to continue on the paths that include easy diversions plus pedestrian bridges so we could cross to the other bank to walk on the other bank then return by the other bridge,

Look at it, sail on it, just enjoy it... Go to Royal Perth Yacht Club and ask for a berth on a Wednesday afternoon sail or at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club on a Thursday afternoon to enjoy the Swan River at its best. This is where, up the river, Perth was founded hundreds of years ago. The Swan River is so wide when it approaches Perth that it seems like a large lake.

The Perth foreshore is a place anybody can do what they find good for their soul. Walk, cycle, eat, sit quietly, people watch, start a conversation, take a ferry ride, get nibbles and a drink or play with the kids. Lots of amenities and attractions to view. I love this part of the city.....South Perth foreshore is just as good....take a ferry, it’s cheap.

Perth has one great asset in the Swan River as it winds its way through a growing metropolis and has stood the time well and remained a almost pristine tidal estuary. Black Swans can be seen almost anywhere along its banks and fishing in the river remains productive for locals who know where and when to go.
