This is a must do activity if you visit Broome, Cable Beach is an Australian icon and the opportunity to experience the sun setting from the back of a camel was surreal. Add cars parked along the beach, dogs chasing balls and locals fishing typified this friendly Broome experience. The camels were "goofy" and very well trained, even stomping puddles of water for fun! The guides were exceptional, both very knowledgeable about their camels but encouraged kids to ask questions and ran up and down the beach around the camel train taking pictures for riders as the sun set. Well priced and well worth it, our family of 5 ticked off an Aussie Bucket list activity. Be aware that in April Broome is still very hot and you will need mosquito repellent.

Our 8yo was talking about going camel riding all week and was so excited as we all were. However when we got there and he saw the size of them was so scared he refused to get on. No matter what we tried or told him he genuinely would not go and was an anxious mess. The operators were patient yet this didn’t help his fear. We asked the owner if we could get a refund and she flat out denied our request even though she had a portable eftpos machine which could have been easily done if willing. It wasn’t like she brought the camel down to the beach especially as it got used anyway. The other guides were very friendly and informative which our other son loved. Two individual couples approached us after the ride and commented on the amount of money she was making and how poor it was that she didn’t offer a refund for our child who stayed behind.

Hi Disappointed. I am sorry to hear this. We are a small business trying to make a living, our cancellation policy is printed on our brochures and is standard practice. We spread the people over the camels if we can so even if the camel was used it would have been at a cost to us. The running of any animal business has great expenses and I can assure you we are not wealthy people, especially as we have had x4 major storms /cyclones hit this summer. Our camel rides are cheaper then others in Broome, and we give all the ladies (and girls) free pearl earrings. There are also discount vouchers for various things to do around Broome given out for all. I believe we offer the best value camel ride in Broome with the best service provided.

We did the sunset ride and was a lovely way to spend the afternoon - friendly camels and people . Beautiful cable beach and a slow relaxing ride up and back. The people running it were very friendly and chattered to us the whole ride. Thoroughly recommend

It really is a must do while in Broome! We were there in wet season so it’s obviously dependent on weather, so I would recommend booking this for your first night in Broome to allow a chance for rescheduling if it rains (in dry season this wouldn’t be an issue). Not all the staff were overly friendly but we put up with it because the camels are just so gorgeous! Loved being on them and cruising along cable beach. The sunset that followed was also to die for!
