My daughter and I were walking down Lygon Street looking for a restaurant. We were taken by Da Guido as it seemed fresh and the waiter who we spoke to was friendly but not pushy as other places had been.
The food was just perfect. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere was modern and welcoming.
A little gem of a place with a marvelous menu.

Dinner was a pleasant experience without necessarily a ‘wow’ factor. Servings were all relatively large so sides are not necessary.

Beef carpaccio with rocket and truffle oil was nice; wagyu ravioli also tasty; mushroom risotto very traditional but probably the nicest of the three dishes.

Good range of wines - majority are Italian but some Aussie wines as well and a smattering if wines by the glass. My only criticism when asking for a recommendation is them suggesting a $100 bottle without ascertaining my budget. I thought that a little presumptuous (upselling.)

Overall, an enjoyable meal.

Dear Peter,
Thank you so much for your review!
We are happy to hear that you chose a variety of different dishes.
We’re sorry to hear that you felt like our waiting staff was presumptuous, we have a variety of different wines with different prices, when customers ask for advice they recommend those wines that will perfectly match with the chosen dishes.

Hoping to see you again soon!

Excellent service and food to match. The ravioli Wagyu with butter and rosemary was divine and a beautiful glass of Vermentino di Sardegna was a perfect compliment to the food.

I have been at the one in little Collins street and after a bite of that pizza I felt home for a second. Everything was delicious, the staff warm and the atmosphere absolutely perfect. Friendly and absolutely focused on good old traditions and value. Was such a pleasure, thank you to make Melbourne feel and taste like home
