I was invited to a Christmas lunch at Vue de Monde without any prior knowledge of the restaurant, so I had no expectations. However, this place is absolutely amazing. the four course degustation menu was terrific. Although canapes to kick off included a bean chip (like a polenta chip) and a clear apple gel disc folded around a macadamia mousse. The first course comprised crab, which I ate despite not eating seafood, and am amazing duck entree and then a Wagyu beef main - which was exquisite, slow cooked, salty and creamy buttery mash - Yum. Finished with a lemon sorbet with creamy and crunchy textures throughout. Prosecco and Sauv Blanc with the meal followed by a sticky dessert win and some delightful cheeses and petit fours made this an exceptional dining experience. The service was also attentive and excellent. The private room hosted about 16 of us, and it was first rate. A real winner, but also the prices reflect the venue - lash out, its worth it.
