Wandering back to our hotel, we stopped for coffee and ended up having a delicious antipasto platter and glass of red at one of the gorgeous eateries in the block arcade, our kids dragged us back the next day to buy some sweet little porcelain animals from the doll and bear hospital and we couldn't resist having another coffee, just to sit and get amongst the atmosphere of the block!!

I always drop into the Block Arcade when visiting Melbourne. It's a beautiful building with stunning ornate Victorian architectural features. The mosaic tile flooring , glass canopy & stone carved finishings make this Arcade especially unique & a must do !

There are some very interesting shops including the Hopetoun Tea Rooms & Haigh's chocolates .

There are 4 entrances to the Arcade one from Little Collins Street , one from Elizabeth Street & two from Collins Street.

A great place that could easily be missed. Brilliant location for a bit of lunch in the lane way at the back of the arcade. Take time to look at the ceilings of shops as theses are definitely a hidden gem. It's a short and simple attraction and great to do on route When around the city.
