Description: The name Lost Angel refers to our nostalgia for Bangkok. We refer to Bangkok - Thailand’s capital city as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon, derived from Pali and Sanskrit root words, and translates as ‘City of Angels’. We call Melbourne home now, but sometimes we get nostalgic about all things Thai. Lost Angel reminds us of our roots and of course Bangkok’s tasty street foods and specialities from rest of Thailand. We are passionate about bringing authentic Thai fare with fusion twists to Melbourne’s diverse and vibrant food culture.

If your looking for a great feed of Thai food look no further. Staff were friendly and attentive, food service quick and most importantly full of flavour. Just loved it.

Although the location for this bar/restaurant places it in the far north-east corner of Melbourne CBD, the courtyard and building wrapping around it provides a great environment for dining and drinks.

This review is based on two lunch visits with work colleagues. With a wide range of dishes to select for individual dining or even a shared experience, prices are very reasonable and the ability to split payment makes it very conducive to work lunch occasions.

For the first visit the Penang curry with roti was my lunch, and for my second visit I tried the pad thai with pork belly.

The only areas which were not as optimal included the fact that there were no fans and the Melbourne weather for our second visit was a very warm day (30-degrees) so even after drawing close the curtain, the atmosphere was bordering on uncomfortable for patrons.

Service was reasonable and the time to serving food was quite fast given ours was a group booking arrangement.

The lost angel is one of those gems just waiting to be discovered. I've discovered it on about six occasions so far. Dishes are so tasty! A couple of favourites include rockling fish with ginger, and Chinese broccoli crispy pork. Both dishes are stir fried and served with rice. Beautifully spiced and presented.

This place has great service and atmosphere. I'm surprised there's it's not packed every single day.

Walking distance from home so had to try. Whilst not an adventurous menu it did taste good. Atmosphere is great, maybe that's the happy hour taking effect.

$4 house wines, pints $9.50.

Very friendly staff too.

Scrumtious delicious yummy Thai...perfectly spiced. The atmosphere was great. Chairs comfortable. Prices reasonable. Staff helpful but got the order wrong probably because of the confusing menu not clearly stating if rice was included or extra. However they were happy to fix my dish and not charge extra. I would suggest they either include rice in all dishes or order rice separately. There is a massive bottle neck at the cash register where the arriving guests, guests paying, and waitress bringing out food all clash because there are dining tables so close and juggling room while waiting in line to pay would be uncomfortable for guests still eating.
