This place is well located just across from the QV Building off Swanston Street and Lonsdale. It also has a nice feel and probably would have even more in the evenings.
We had the $22 luncheon special which is the elotes corn (normally $6.00), a pair of tacos ($15.00) and a drink. We chose a glass of white wine but I would go for a beer next time if offered.
I had read a recipe along similar lines for the corn on the cobb but had not tried it. It was really good.
The lamb taco was recommend by other reviewers and I was pleased to have selected it. The other choice, a cauliflower based taco, was not as pleasing.
The tacos are served flat - two on a platter - and the ingredients placed on what I would have called a tostada. It is tempting simply to fold it over and eat it as a normal taco. I got more value taste wise, though, by eating much of the contents with a fork before folding it over and eating the remainder. This way one got the full flavour. The deep fried kale in the vegetable taco, for example, was lost when eaten together with the other vegetables.
We did see people order the guacamole and chips ($16.00) and it did seem a reasonable serving, but don't know how it was received. A couple next to us left half of theirs uneaten.
It would be worth trying some other dishes but I would stick with the corn as the first course
