This place is well located just across from the QV Building off Swanston Street and Lonsdale. It also has a nice feel and probably would have even more in the evenings.

We had the $22 luncheon special which is the elotes corn (normally $6.00), a pair of tacos ($15.00) and a drink. We chose a glass of white wine but I would go for a beer next time if offered.

I had read a recipe along similar lines for the corn on the cobb but had not tried it. It was really good.

The lamb taco was recommend by other reviewers and I was pleased to have selected it. The other choice, a cauliflower based taco, was not as pleasing.

The tacos are served flat - two on a platter - and the ingredients placed on what I would have called a tostada. It is tempting simply to fold it over and eat it as a normal taco. I got more value taste wise, though, by eating much of the contents with a fork before folding it over and eating the remainder. This way one got the full flavour. The deep fried kale in the vegetable taco, for example, was lost when eaten together with the other vegetables.

We did see people order the guacamole and chips ($16.00) and it did seem a reasonable serving, but don't know how it was received. A couple next to us left half of theirs uneaten.

It would be worth trying some other dishes but I would stick with the corn as the first course

Situated in the centre of Melbourne. The restaurant easily dealt with our large party, two of whom were vegetarians. A great atmosphere, superb Mexican food , great beers and good service. Noisy and fun!

We visited Touche Hombre for the first time last Sunday. It was mid-afternoon and we were really hungry after missing lunch, as we were shopping.

We walked along Lonsdale Street and many of the Greek restaurants were closed, as it was certainly not lunch time but found this delightful, bright, bustling Mexican restaurant.

We were greeted by the most outgoing and friendly manager/waiter and were quickly ushered to a window seat, as he told us that the people watching was excellent from there.

We ordered guacamole and tortilla chips for our entree and then the chicken tacos for mains. Our drinks and entree came almost instantly and was a huge bowl of authentic, zesty guacamole. It was delicious and we couldn't finish it, as the bowl was just so big.

Our chicken tacos were presented on large, wooden trays and looked and smelled amazing. They tasted even better! The tacos were soft and freshly cooked and were loaded with spicy chicken. We were absolutely stuffed by the time we finished and rolled out of the restaurant.

The staff were so friendly and laid back and the food was excellent and authentic. It's such a vibrant restaurant with a great laid back atmosphere and they certainly know how to look after the tourists to their City. Can't wait to go back!

The food is seriously overpriced for what is essentially street food and the drinks are also expensive. The nachos came with a mountain of flavourless quacamole. We shared a selection of tacos which were all average - everything lacked any seasoning or real flavour. We were seated at the bar and not only a number of customers but the waitresses bumped into us multiple times. Complete waste of money, there's more flavour in a packet of Doritos!

Happy is between 4 & 6, so I missed that. Went for a tap beer, Doss Blockos Pale Ale instead. Cheap but good. We had chicken and lamb tacos to share, lamb was the better of the 2. Croquettes were really tasty, Jalapeños were not that spicy but had a little bite to them. We also had Chilaquiles, this was like nachos but better and a big serve.

Finished off with a chocolate taco. Yum

Food came really quick and along with a pleasant bouncy atmosphere, made for a great dining experience.
