Description: Bistrot d'Orsay has been situated in picturesque Collins Street for 20 years, in an area regarded as the ‘Paris End’. The interior is instantly evocative of the French capital with trompe l’oeil ceiling and a towering vintage French poster adorning the dining room. Dark wood paneling and soft lighting completes the picture. Lunch and dinner menus are provençal Mediterranean with French bistro classics such as bouillabaisse and crème brûlée all prepared with flair. Dishes such as seafood linguini and risotto complement the Mediterranean style. With a spectacular view of the ornate Regent Theatre directly opposite, Bistrot d’Orsay can lay claim to one of the best views of any restaurant in Melbourne. The bistro has a multi-award winning, extensive wine list with expertly chosen selections from the best international and Australian/NZ regions.

We found the Bistrot d'Orsay a great dining experience. Whilst the menu and wine list are not extensive... the quality of the food and service were outstanding. An intimate decore and a convenient location opposite the Regent Theatre complex and just up from the Town Hall. Well worth visiting time and again...!!

Highly recommended if you enjoy warm, attentive & friendly service and amazing food! Simple, uncomplicated menu with enough dishes to make you salivate in anticipation without being overwhelming and confusing. Enjoyed every bite of my scotch fillet, which was cooked to perfection and dessert of pear tart tartin with almond ice cream. Yum!

We had an excellent meal at this restaurant. The restaurant is cosy, warm busy and authentic French with beautiful paintings on the walls and ceilings. We had the Coq au Vin and the Confit Duck Leg, the duck was excellent, warm and the meat was very tender even the Brussels sprouts tasted great, my wife enjoyed the Coq au Vin. We had French wine (why not) which was very nice. We also had desserts which were excellent as well,
The staff were French which made it feel more like a french dining experience. Its location is also in a great location for the theaters and comedy festival
Highly recommended.

Dined at Bistro d’Orsay last night before heading off to Beautiful depicting the career of Carole King! The show was great as was the food & service at the restaurant. We have been to d’Orsay many times over the years however last night was the first visit for 2 years! It was great food & service then and still is! Well worth a visit!
