The Princes Theatre in Australia's oldest entertainment site with the first theatre built in 1854 and rebuilt in 1886 from a design by architect William Pitt. Not having been inside for a show for years I have no comment but worth a look from Spring Street.

Really great show. Some parts are a bit scary for kids. The queue for drinks was far too long. One thing that really did annoy me was that fact that none of the bars displayed prices for drinks. The prices were excessive and perhaps the reason why. This is why I’m reducing my review score from5 to 3. I think it is very poor form.

Princess Theatre is one of the oldest theatres. It dates back to 1854, and many famous productions have been staged here over the years. Some of the more well known ones have been The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. It is one of Melbourne's magnificent landmarks and is a must see sight.

An elaborately beautiful theatre of the bygone era. An absolutely delightful venue. Very friendly staff. The show was a pure delight and compared equally with London
Theatres plays. We’re we’re ASTOUNDED at the amazing props,,, not giving a
Thing away! We are from Adelaide and certainly not disappointed.

3.5 stars for a theatre that is beautifully reminiscent of the best of the West End. The seats are roomy for a theatre, but something must be done about the lack of female toilets. The queue at intermission snaked up 3 flights of stairs. Completely unacceptable.
