It was an interesting experience, a great amount of history and I found the movie quite remarkable as what they went thru. The information with the ropes was good my kids liked that.
The ship was great I can’t believe it was rebuilt. Great information for kids.

The visit to the museum (and ship) starts with a short video about the life of a seaman on such a ship. The exhibits are all from the period and in the ship itself you can walk around and visit all the rooms. Reconstruction is still going on. This usually takes longer than expected, because most is done with volunteers.

The Polly Woodside exhibition is located in Melbourne's South Wharf precinct. Polly Woodside was built in Belfast in 1885 and operated as a cargo vessel. There is an excellent display of objects from the ship's past. In the theatrette a short film captures life on board. Guided tours are available or self guided tour both on deck & below deck.

The Polly Woodside rescued by the National Trust 50 years ago and has been undergoing an extensive restoration centre. A picturesque sight on South Wharf with adjacent interpretation centre. Well worth a visit if you have even an inkling of interest in history. Opens on weekends and school holidays.

The Polly Woodside is one of the few tall ships surviving in Australia. It's a great sight to see and all things considered, it's in tip-top shape. If you want to see the ship from outside, there is no need to pay. To take a looki inside, the ship is normally open Saturdays and Sundays, and seven days a week on school holidays. Youngsters love the Polly Woodside, it's well worth the trip.
