I visited the Melbourne Museum on my own and loved being able to wander through geology, palaeontology, taxidermy and local history. There really is something here for everyone. The displays are thoughtfully and creatively assembled and there is a huge range of exhibits.

There's a rain forest in the middle of the museum. Full of lizards, birds and fish. You can walk under the lake and see everything. This place is awesome

Took our excited 4 year old to see the dinosaur exhibits. That was great to look at. We were a little disappointed at some of the exhibits though. Would’ve liked to see some more on our planet and environment.

Also the ticketing queue was quite huge. I wanted to buy them online but wasn’t sure whether they would be a mobile ticket? Nothing on the website was able to tell me that so I queued up. Maybe the museum can look into that.

Adults $15 to get in and kids are free.

A good day out regardless.

I particularly enjoyed the mineral exhibition. The museum as a whole is excellent and a great place to take young children or even a curious adult.
