Wonderful public attraction
Melbourne really has it right when it comes to public spaces.
The Museum offers up a lot of brilliant exhibitions, and journeys of discovery and the building itself is an architectural beauty with heaps of natural light and inviting layout.

There are plenty of sections per subjects - from biology to geography and history to science. I liked the stone section where all kind of stone found in Australia are kept. Also 360 degree theater which shows evolution specific theory. Children play area is nice.

Melboure museum was fatastic! Entry is free however i opted to pay to see the Jurassic World ehxibition which is definitely worth seeing for young and old. Other free areas were great and inclusive of a lot of both Australian and international historical pieces. The indoor/outdoor rainforest was a personal favourite! Bones, bugs, butterflies, taxidermy, pottery and paintings....definitely worth a visit.

We visited the museum with 2 x 5 year olds and an 8 year old. We all loved it and wished we could have stayed for longer (even the grown ups). The Jurassic Park exhibition (ends Oct) was amazing but only took an hour to complete. We then had a look at the dinosaur exhibition within the museum (entry included with Jurassic Park tickets) and a couple of other permanent exhibitions which we all enjoyed before we had to go. The museum is well laid out and not at all as staid as the Australian Museum in Sydney. Definitely worth a visit.

The museum was great to go and see, it took us about 2-3 hours to really look at everything properly, lucky we have teenagers that are interested in everything that was on display. It is very modern and spacious.
