As a long time resident of Melbourne I have visited the NGV many times but not for several years now. I was stunned by the new ways the gallery has presented the collections and enjoyed the works very much.

went to the van gogh exhibition and it was great. there was a movie beforehand explaining about his life and the pictures we were about to see, and the exhibition area was chic and modern. there was lots of text to explain what we were seeing

Art is not what it used to be and my wife and I had seen as much as we could stand after about an hour. The flower room was 'different' and if you were into selfies this was the place. We were expecting a regular art gallery of Australian art but apparently we were in the wrong place.(Ian Potter Centre). If you are into chairs, clothing, plastic & steel then this is the place,. .

A great place to entertain creative teens amongst the historic and contemporary works. NGV is the envy of Australia

I was blown away by the beauty, the history and the amazing displays. Too much to view in one day. The talent of modern as well as historical pieces led me to imagine all sorts of things like, who was the person behind the creation. Love, Love, Love this place.
