It is a lovely time-warp hotel of the days of middle-executives and airline staff, of stay-overs for functions/meetings where nothing is going to disturb the comfort zone and hopefully the company is picking up the tab.
We had been here at the opening week as the Hilton and over the decades as a base for business or functions.
It remains the same hotel down to the shower fittings being more suitable for a bath, the gold drapes and curtains, the beige colouring and the room service snacks.
All pleasant - all fullfiling a purpose of not challenging but providing.
The attention to detail is not there e.g. clocks not changed with daylight savings and the young waiters who were not aware that the large building outside was known as the G.
Maybe we have changed too much and the Pullman (the old Hilton) does not need to change. Who knows?
We had a pleasant stay.More
