I had a wonderful morning walk guided by the very knowledgeable Darcy. An
excellent introduction to Melbourne’s fabulous laneways with good commentary covering Melbourne’s history. My companions were all from overseas. I’m Australian. We all really enjoyed it, including lunch. Recommended.

After travelling to Melbourne and GETTING SOME SLEEP, we walked to Federation Square to catch this half day walking tour.

Spot on time, two guides arrived. We went with Lara, a Perth native who now lives in Melbourne. Our tour companions were three American couples.

The lanes and arcades tour takes you through several dozen spots in the extensive network of pedestrian areas in the CBD (Central Business District). You go from the majestic and iconic Flinders Street Station and the Manchester Union building to graffiti and 'stickie' emblazoned alleys, and get a capsule history of the city's booming past and prosperous present.

And... you stop off for some SERIOUSLY good chocolate at Moka Black, an artisanal chocolate shop and café.

Lara was a great guide, sharing facts, informed opinion, and answering questions with aplomb. She also ensured she e to help each couple with what other things they might want to do in the city.

We followed three of her recommendations for food and attractions and they were excellent.

This was a great way to get a sense of place in a relatively short time.

Recommendations: sensible shoes. It is a WALKING tour. Highly recommend doing it. If we’d more time in the city, we would probably take another of their themed tours.

Did this tour with two girlfriends from Sydney and loved it. Thoroughly enjoyed hearing so many stories as I've only been in Melbourne 2 years. The walk wasn't difficult, the pace was just right and our guide was lovely. Lunch at the end was terrific too! Recommended.

The wonderfully informative and friendly Lara guided us on a great morning walk around Melbourne’s laneways and pointed out all manner of interesting features and historical background that we would otherwise have missed. She had many stories and tips to keep us entertained throughout the tour. We now have plenty of places to return to and thoroughly enjoy! We also enjoyed a delicious morning tea break with some treats. Thoroughly recommend this tour with Hidden Secrets.

Our tour was called Arcades and Lanes. It included coffee and chocolate and lunch. We had a great tour guide named Luisa ... so happy we did this. We would have missed so much if we didn’t ... highly recommend
