Read the reviews and decided to try. Unfortunately I/we was very disappointed.. I’m guessing the kitchen was under the pump as some of our dinners came out before others and the drinks orders were mixed up. My meal was Tagliatelle with prawns and a creamy sauce. It was very dry, hardly any sauce and very little flavour, I could only manage half. The others at our table also had very average meals. With so many good restaurants in Hobart I will be taking our future visitors elsewhere. Sorry

Had the absolute pleasure of dining at this establishment. It’s rare to visit a new place and be made to feel that you are a regular, and that’s before you even get to the ridiculously great food. Amazing range while still holding true to the Italian idiom of “Not too many ingredients, just the best quality that can be sourced”. If you can drag yourself away from the menu, well worth a look at the specials board and don’t leave without sampling the dolci menu! Buon Apetito.

Ever patient hubby and I decided we needed a 2arm robust meal after braving the sleet on mount Wellington.... Maldivian was walking distance from the harbour side palace and fit the bill... we called to make a booking and were kindly squeezed in.. upon arrival the race began....we had 50 mins... our fa7kt not theirs... the perroni roso, tick...no-traditional lasagne.... hubby not happy he had a hankering.... we settled on a pork and beef ragu bolognaise.... less ragu and more bolognaise....the matre dei and bar staff were warm friendly and welcoming...we were well fed and watered as we sprinted for a rare appointment for a Collingwood final.. sigh.... hum....do I have to?..
thanks for squeezing us in and meeting our food needs.. an enjoyable sojourn...

We were looking for an Italian meal and found this place while wandering along Salamanca markets. Meals were large amd the Creme Brûlée was divine! The staff were attentive but they got quite busy and we wondered if they had expected such a crowd on a week night.

We have been coming to Maldini’s for 10 yrs and have never been disappointed !!!
The quality of food and service has never changed .
Our family enjoyed a lovely night , everyone was very happy with their meals , from the BEST Eye Fillet Steak in Hobart to wonderful fresh Pasta dishes to a variety of specials on the daily notice board .
Special mention of professional service by Mel and Edward . Thank you .
This is a Family run business , even though we don’t live in Hobart , we are always remembered and welcomed back by Owners Bruno and son Dante .
Any tourist looking for a quality Italian restaurant Maldini’s at Salamanca Place is the place to go . We notice it is frequented by locals which is a good sign .
We look forward to returning several times during our Hobart visit . They are open for Breakfast , lunch and dinner . We often pop in for a great coffee and can’t go past their Tiramasu and other delicious home made deserts .
