Great day at Salamanca markets on a Saturday in September.Ensure you are in Hobart for the markets that run from 9 am to 3 pm. Plenty to see and do.

This is a great area with a number of things to do whilst there as it is the older part of hobart with houses that date from the mid 19th century up to the mid 20th century so there is quite an architectural span here compared to the rest of the city

There are places to sit and relax or to have a picnic or just stroll around and take in the bygone atmosphere of the architectural heritage here

This fringe of city suburb has all you need for refreshment. Hill Street Store for delicatessen, a great selection of cheese & all yr needs. Nearby is the Macquarie Food Store where the service is excellent as is the ambiance. Food is basic & good. Ginger Brown, a short walk uphill from the main shops has an excellent reputation for good food. It's very popular & crowded at peak times. Too noisy then for me but fine if you avoid these times.
Excellent Airbnb at Black Bird studio ... Close to the cafes & interesting small shops, Post Office etc.
