“A Piece Of Paradise !!”
Reviewed 25 June 2018 for a stay in June 2018

Button's Cottage is truly a magical place to stay if you want to soak up the beauty of this region. Alison is a WONDERFUL host who ensures that you feel welcome and comfortable from the moment you arrive. The cottage is clean and cosy. The bed is so COMFY ! The kitchen is well equipped and it is lovely to sit and enjoy breakfast, looking out at the beautiful countryside. There are amazing waterfalls within walking distance and it is a great base for exploring nearby Cradle Mountain and Leven Canyon. Alison made us the most delicious egg and homemade relish breakfast tarts, and we thoroughly enjoyed our interesting conversations with her over coffee, and bubbles. Staying at Buttons Cottage on our first Tasmanian holiday was a memorable experience. We hope to visit Alison again. Thanks for sharing your home and your stories with us Alison.
Fond Regards, Carolyn & John

“Cosy, kid-friendly and beautiful scenery”

From the moment we arrived at Button's Cottage, Alison made us feel welcome. The cottage is cosy and well-appointed, and set in beautiful grounds which are safe for kids to roam. Our kids (six and five years old) loved meeting the various animals on the property, especially the sheep, a nest of swallows in the eaves, and a family of kittens hiding in the barn.

Alison delivered freshly-made breakfasts in the morning - home made almond croissants and bacon and egg tarts - her cooking is fabulous and they were absolutely delicious.

The local area offers lots of beautiful walks that are suitable even for little kids. We took day trips to the Gunns Plain caves (which were astounding) and visited a gorge, a waterfall and the little town of Penguin.

Our stay at Buttons Cottage was one of the highlights of our stay in Tasmania. Highly recommend.

“Wow - worth finding!”
Reviewed 16 January 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Magic piece of finery an hour by country road to Cradle Mountain. Well resourced for its secluded location, the home has a solid presence (and quality manchester!). Pretty rural drives to take too.

“We didn't want to leave!”

This was the the best and most relaxing 3 night getaway we've experienced.
Alison was an excellent host, making us feel most welcome and stocking the cottage with the most extensive range of provisions imaginable.
Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre is a comfortable hour's drive away, while a wildlife park is even closer.
You may choose to sit in the comfort of the cottage and read while watching the cattle graze in an adjacent paddock or walk 50 metres to a waterfall.
Three days was not long enough for us. We'd love to return for a longer holiday at Buttons Cottage.

“Beautiful Little Gem in a Tranquil Setting”
Reviewed 15 February 2015 for a stay in January 2015

We had the pleasure of staying here for two nights to celebrate our second wedding anniversay. It was so beautifull. Old world charm with modern conveniences. All the little touches that Alison did just made it perfect. Her attention to detail was wonderful. We were supplied with breakfast including fresh fruit and eggs. There were amazing homemade sausage rolls and scones in the freezer. The cottage was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The bed we slept in was so comfortable which is unusual when away from home. it was so nice to be away from the stresses of everyday life and to just relax. We were even grateful not to have any phone or internet coverage. It was as if we had escaped from our life for a couple of days. When time came to leave we both didnt want to. We will definately be returning.
