We had been to the roaring grill a year ago and had such wonderful things to say. This time was a very different experience. Atmosphere lacked and service wasn’t overly friendly. All we could hear was the banter of the staffs chatter. Pork ribs very unenjoyable (mainly from the sauce). Cocktail was so sweet could not be drunk. Overall, left with a hefty bill and unenjoyable experience.

Excellent steak meal for dinner, however they did mix up our meals when we were served and the waiter still beg to differ. It was confirmed out once eating that they gave my Mother in-law my med-well done 350g and I got her med-rare 200g. Also it was very quiet for a Sunday and they sat us right next to the only other occupied table?

Arrived 7pm, quiet cosy atmosphere, great service, and the steaks - scotch fillet and the huge ribeye - just melted in your mouth.
We’d had the coffee-rubbed steak at Rockwell, which was great, but we agreed this steak was just better, juicier and tasty. Thank you.

Dropped by the Roaring Grill for Sunday late lunch and was so glad we did. Great menu, prices in line with the high quality food served elegantly . Beautiful dining room, great servers who were so attentive and the chef obviously loves cooking every meal with heart as even the kitchen banter is charming. Don’t go past the Roaring Grill, great dining experience !

Visited with family for yet another birthday meal. It was an early booking as we had some young children with us. We were seated upstairs beside a cosy gas heater and for the majority of our meal were the only ones in the upstairs section, which made for a relaxing and enjoyable time - we didn't need to be concerned that the children were bothering anyone and we could actually hear ourselves and have a conversation. Towards the end of our meal, however, other diners arrived and the room quickly filled. We could no longer hear ourselves think and were glad to be leaving at that point. So my recommendation there is to go early - it's much nicer!

The food is quite expensive, however everyone in our group was very happy with their meal. I had the lemon pepper calamari as an entree and was very pleased with the portion size - I felt it was great value. However the portion sizes for a side of chips was a little lacking for the $9 charged (a small handful, about 20 chips at most). Condiments were extra - $3.50 for a tiny bowl of tomato sauce! Drink prices were about average.

There were a number of gluten free options however, like so many dining establishments, many of the options include red meat. For a gluten intolerant vegetarian, risotto is about the only option.

Staff were friendly and attentive - in fact, perhaps overly so. Someone would come to our table every few minutes (I'm not exaggerating!), asking us if everything was alright and topping up wine glasses. Whilst the intention was good, it meant we were continuously interrupted from our conversations, or had to quickly swallow a mouthful of food so as to speak, which did detract from the experience. It's nice to ask once (and perhaps again as they clear the table: "how did you enjoy your meal?") and it is certainly impressive to have such attentive service in terms of drink refills etc, but a little more discretion would perhaps be better. I think of somewhere like Me Wah, with it's exceptional service - the staff are always present and available at all times, but discreet - never interrupting conversation or detracting from the meal.

Overall, great food and good service (if a little over-zealous). Expensive and noisy - suggest going early (before 7pm) to avoid the noise.
