We have just completed 3 wonderful weeks holidaying in Tasmania. We did not have a bad day in all that time. The circumnavigation of Maria Island onboard 'The Spirit of Maria' was, without doubt, one of the best days we had.
We managed to see common dolphins, seals, a humpback whale, kangaroos, pademelons, wombats, Cape Barren Geese, Wedge tailed eagles, albatrosses and other sea birds. The landscape and geology of the island is fascinating. we all took dozens and dozens of photo's.
Mike is a fantastic skipper, extremely knowledgable and passionate about the environment, the island's history and its inhabitants. He is very approachable and is conscious of each passengers safety, comfort and tour experience. Similarly Meg was very friendly and personable and spent her day making sure every passenger enjoyed their day. Lunch was an enjoyable onboard experience.
Mike and Meg made sure all guests felt welcomed making a point to learn each of the passenger's names. With only 24 passengers on board there were vantage points for all.
Our kids, aged 14 and 13, agree that this was an experience not to be missed.
We picked up the tour at Triabunna.
We will certainly do this again when we return to Tasmania.
Thanks to East Coast Cruises and especially to Mike and Meg.
