It was fantastic service and hospitality- the shuttle bus came on time, the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.Just one thing I thought was a gap between ferry time and bus pick up time. It would be better if the pick up time was one hour earlier (4pm instead of 5pm) as we all needed to take ferry back at 3:30pm. There is not much thing to do while killing the gap time around the ferry stop.

Dear Seaside43572721720,

Thanks for your lovely review, it's fantastic you travelled up on our Maria Island Shuttle service from Hobart, travelling across on the ferry to spend a day exploring Maria Island. The shuttle service is also utilised by our tour guests also travelling from Hobart, and our cruise boat "Spirit of Maria" gets back into Triabunna at 5pm which is why we are scheduled to depart at 5:15pm. There are some great spots to visit to fill in the hour: a feed from the Fish Van, afternoon tea at the Colonial and a relax on the lawn in their gorgeous gardens, visit the Village or explore the little township of Triabunna.

Kindest Regards - Team ECC

We just completed 3 wonderful weeks in Tasmania. We did not have a bad day in all that time. The circumnavigation of Maria Island onboard 'The Spirit of Maria' was, without doubt, one of the best days we had.
We managed to see common dolphins, seals, a humpback whale, kangaroos, pademelons, wombats, Cape Barren Geese, Wedge tailed eagles, albatrosses and other sea birds. The landscape and geology of the island is fascinating. Could not help but taking dozens and dozens of photo's.
Mike is a fantastic skipper, extremely knowledgable and passionate about the environment, the island's history and its inhabitants. He is very approachable and is conscious of each passengers safety, comfort and tour experience. Similarly Meg was very friendly and personable and spent her day making sure every passenger enjoyed their day. Lunch was an enjoyable onboard experience.
Mike and Meg made sure all guests felt welcomed making a point to learn each of the passenger's names. With only 24 passengers on board there were vantage points for all.
Our kids, aged 14 and 13, agree that this was an experience not to be missed.
To date, only one person has given a less than excellent rating but please read the comment and you will see that their rating had to have been a mistake.
We will certainly do this again when we return to Tasmania.
Thanks to East Coast Cruises and especially to Mike and Meg.

This day trip to Maria Island was brilliant. Mike, (our skipper) and Meg ( our guide) were very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. We spent 4/5 hours circumnavigating the island with Mike telling us the history of the island and showing us it’s amazing features - truly spectacular. On our way around the island we saw wedge tailed eagles, sea eagles, common dolphins, albatrosses, seals and even a young hump back whale breaching. We saw beaches and bays that would rival places like Wineglass Bay. Lunch, onboard in a sheltered beach of turquoise water and white sand, was divine - cold meats, salmon, cheeses, fresh salad and bread rolls along with beer and wine if you desired. After lunch we left the boat with Meg for a guided tour of Darlington, a former convict penitentiary and were lucky enough to see mother and baby wombat, geese, wallabies and kangaroos. After a couple of hours we returned to the the boat for a cool drink and fresh fruit before our return journey to Triabunna.
Thank you to Mike and Meg and East Coast Cruises for the best day. I will definitely be recommending this trip to everyone I know , and those I don’t!

We had a fantastic experience with Mike and Meg, who were absolutely perfect hosts and put on a great lunch. Mike’s knowledge about the geology of the coastline made it a fascinating trip and the view was spectacular.

We would highly recommend this day trip.
