We stayed 3 nights in a Deluxe Spa Harbour View Room. The room itself was lovely, a reasonable size, and with unique architectural features - there's sandstone brick interior walls (being the original jam factory walls) and large wooden structural beams. Each room has art on the walls, which is also for sale. The bathroom is very modern, glass, stainless steel style, very nice and spacious.
The only downer for us was the noise factor, from guests in other rooms. Like a lot of places, you can often hear noise from the rooms beside/above you.
We didn't have breakfast included, but instead ate at the associated Jam Packed cafe in the interior courtyard, which was fine. There's also another cafe in there that we tried, again good.
Each Friday night at 5pm is a free tour of the art in the public areas of the hotel, run by the curator. It was an interesting talk and fascinating to hear more about the history of the place and see some of the behind-the-scenes areas. You must book in for the tour; you don't have to be a guest of the hotel to do the tour.
The hotel itself is right on the waterfront. Everything's a short walk.

We stayed here for 5 nights in a Deluxe Spa Harbour View Room. On booking I was told it was the only room left and had to accept a nightly room rate of $433 (room only). The room is very large and comfortable, but with two small clothes areas on either side of the bed, there is no chest of draws or wardrobes and we had to leave some of our clothes in the cases.
The room is double glazed which is good because on Fridays and Saturdays some of the locals like to do "wheelie's" along the roads nearby which can wake a light sleeper. Also, in our room, there was noise from the The Long Bar below, not loud but noticeable, and to be borne in mind if you are noise sensitive.
The linen was satisfactory but as others have said there is no wifi in the room so if you have an iPad or other wifi dependent device you have to sit in the lobby where there is wifi.
The staff are fine, but then you would expect that. The breakfast was poor in terms of quality and variety and we only ate in the Hotel the once.
The Hotel is well located on the harbour-side and if you want a harbour location and something a bit different there is not much in the way of competition. The Hotel surcharges all bills at 1.5% if you pay by credit card, so take this into account when considering the rate you are being offered. We would stay there again but not in such a large room, There is frankly nothing better, when location and standard are taken into account.

Room Tip: Try one of the smaller Harbour View Rooms

We spent five nights at the Henry Jones. The location is superb overlooking the harbor, docks and fishing boats. The ferry to the MONA gallery is a five minute stroll along the wharf? The Salamanca area and market only a few minutes further. We had a Spa Harbour View room (106) which was huge, with a lovely view. The massive old beams and stone front wall seeped history. One negative was noise from people leaving the function room in the early hours and people talking loudly outside the entrance which our room was above. If you are a light sleeper try to get a room away from this area.
Everything that you would expect of a top hotel can be found in the rooms. There is an Internet connection in the room, but if you are traveling light with your iPAD you might have to go to the foyer to get WiFi. The thick walls are too big an obstacle for WiFi. A minor irritant is the hotel's use of those ridiculous anti-theft hangers which either fall off without provocation or defy all attempts to yank them out of their metal keepers. If I am paying this much money for an hotel I think they should provide proper hangers. I don't want to steal them, and if they do lose the odd one, so what at these prices.
The bar, coffee shop, foyer and associated art and crafts shop are all interesting and the staff were very helpful and efficient. As a rule I avoid Hotel restaurants for some illogical reason, but we went to Henry's and if you want a special evening make sure you book an evening there.
The Henry Jones is a great place to stay in Hobart.

Room Tip: Be aware that the area close to the foyer and function room can be noisy at night.

Fantastic Hotel in a wonderful location close to all the attractions.
Hotel staff were outstanding right from the start of our two day stay.
We were upgraded to a Spa Harbour View Room which was spacious and quiet being at the end of a corridor.
We were close to the ferry terminal and as we were visiting the Mona Gallery,we just left our luggage at reception and spent the afternoon at Mona.
On arrival back at the hotel our luggage was in our room ready for us to unpack and enjoy our stay at this lovely Art Hotel.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice at this Hotel

What an authentic surprise tucked in beside the wharf in walking distance to everywhere in down town Hobart.
We booked at the last minute and still had quite an impressive room in the hotel. The service at the desk was exceptional and the room service OK. Beautiful art works surround the establishment and create a real atmosphere. It would have been good to have toileteries replace daily...but if that is the only complaint!
We were able to walk to all the excellent eateries, book our outings at the local office and catch a bus and hire car from our doorstep.
Make sure you go to MONA, eat at Ethos and hire a car to visit Port Aurthur, Our 3 days seemed like a week. Recommend highly.
