Stayed 4 nights and enjoyed every minute, had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and the food and service was great.

Room Tip: Front rooms at the back would be quieter

Stayed one night at the Customs House Hotel in Hobart whilst on business. Hotel is situated in a great location within easy walking distance of most Hobart points of interest, waterfront and mall.
At $120, had a spotlessly clean basic room with what appeared to be a recently renovated en suite. Room was not huge but given the building was built in the 1800s, quite adequate. Despite a lift, there are a few stairs between rooms after alighting from lift in the building which may not be suitable for some disabled people. Very little outside noise noted on a Thursday night. Restaurant food was also very good. A few hanging pegs on the door or wall would be helpful.
Good value in a good location. Recommended.

Rooms are good value for money, however it does not suits the standards of real hotels. I stayed in room 8 right above the hotel's restaurant and pub, it can be a bit noisy. No easy accessible plugs in the room. Bathroom fan sounds like a tractor. All the rest is ok for a $135 overnight.

Great 3 nights in a large, clean, comfortable but basic room. Excellent location and great views from the waterfront queen room on the second floor. We were able to walk to most sights and had ready access to tourist facilities. We had expected a bit of noise, but the place was very quiet, even on Uni student night (Wednesday). Really good restaurant and a great breakfast provided each day. Overall a very pleasant stay in a comfortable historic building.

The hotel is in an excellent location within easy walking distance to the harbour, Salamanca market and city centre. Parking is a bit of a problem but on check in the receptionist was helpful. The room was roomy with a large comfortable bed but other facilities were very poor - no hanging space except an extending arm out of the wall with a few odd assorted wire and cheap plastic hangers. This arrangement is only good for shirts, trousers not for dresses. The included one item from the menu for breakfast was excellent although the self service tea and coffee was poor. We stayed 3 nights over a weekend and although the waterfront view looks great during daylight hours the teenage revelling and noise from the nightclub opposite was awful and kept us awake until 5 am on 2 of our 3 nights. I suggest you request a room on the back if staying on a Friday or Saturday night.
