“Very Impressed with both location and rooms”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 December 2011

Recently stayed for 4 nights in November in a studio apartment and was very impressed with both the location and rooms. As we were there on a Saturday it’s an excellent location for the markets with lots of great restaurants just on its doorstep. The apartment was ultra-modern with lots of room, beautiful full kitchen with dishwasher, leather lounges and flat screen TV.
The deal included a hot breakfast daily and it was large and very tasty, with excellent and friendly service. Our stay in at Hobart at the Salamanca inn was defiantly one of the highlights of our Tassie holiday.

At a meeting I attended, a request for no uncooked cheese was requested. Not prepared, after waiting for more than half an hour, starving and having shakes and agitated, finally got a single sandwich, the cook accused me of being rude to his waitress for saying I was really starving!! Not a good experience!!

Room Tip: Dont order meals, you might be waiting a while, then be abused by staff

I was quite impressed with the Salamanca Inn on a recent visit. The rooms are clean and spacious, the staff warm and friendly. The hotel is located only steps away from wonderful shops and restaurants. Being there on a Saturday provided an opportunity to visit Salamanca Market and it wasn't far to carry home our finds. I would certainly stay at this property again and I would recommend it to friends and family.

We were a group of six women and required 3 twin rooms. This hotel was very well appointed - each room had afull kitchen( oven/ cooker, dishwasher, microwave, crockery and cutlery. There was a sitting area - very comfortable. Dining table and chairs. The windows were double glazed, keeping noise to a minimum, but also opened ( for those who like fresh air). The only negatives were, shelves in the wardrobes which can't be utelised because the bifold doors ca n't be opened wide enough! The extra charge for seperating the twin beds!! and the fact that the dushes have to be washed by the guests. The Resturant looked VERY ordinary, though we never actually ate there, plenty of better places to eat in close proximity. Great value and location.Friendly and obliging staff.

Stayed at Salamnca Inn for the first time last weekend. Had a girls weekend with three girlfriends so we booked a 2 bedroom apartment. It was modern, clean and we looked over to St Davids park which was pretty. I had one of the single beds in the downstairs bedroom & didn't sleep all that well, but it was probably just due to not being used to a single bed! The shower was a bit strange and sprayed water sideways which did wet the floor. Also, the fridge was attached to a cupboard door and didn't seal properly, which didn't keep the large amount of cheese we'd bought cold. The pool was ok, a bit small and also too shallow to swim properly in. The spa was nice, about 5 degrees warmer & it would've been perfectt! There was minimal noise from Salamanca Place. The service we received was fantastic. You can see that it is a very happy working environment. From reception to the restaurant to the cleaning staff - everyone was just lovely. The food at the restaurant was excellent, especially the dessert platter!! And talk about a great location! Just a short walk to Salamanca Place & the market. And not far to the wharf area either. I would definately stay here again.
