Owner description: Step inside Australia's oldest operating brewery, nestled at the foot of the majestic Mount Wellington, to learn how Cascade has been crafting beer since 1832. Our guides will share Cascade's fabled recipe; a dash of history, a healthy dose of Tasmania's finest ingredients and a generous serve of brewing craft. You can take a tour or just relax and enjoy Cascade beers and Mercury ciders, savour a delicious lunch and wander our three acres of heritage gardens. The Visitor Centre is open 7 days a week between 10am - 5pm, excluding Good Friday and Christmas day and tours operate daily.

“I don't even like beer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour thanks to a knowledgeable and passionate tour guide. I don't even like beer but enjoyed this. Just the right mix of fact and fun.

Definitely worth it if you're in town.

“Good food, good brew and great history”

A good experience and one not to be missed. The history of the place is amazing and only surpassed by the beer tasting.

“Great spot - with beer!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2012

Beautiful place to visit - we arrived at 3pm and all of the tours for that day had finished - so go early if you want to catch one. Has a cafe that sells Cascade products (obvioulsy!) and small gift shop. Beautiful gardens alone are worth a visit.

“Gardens close at 4.00 pm : be aware”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2012

We turned up just before 4.00 pm after hopping off the Red Decker bus. We intended wandering around their gardens but wasn't aware this closes at 4 (along with other amenities there). So next time. Returned to city by track called the Hobart Rivulet.
