Description: Blue Eye is a quality seafood restaurant on Hobart's waterfront, cooking fresh and tasty local fish and seafood. It has a modern menu specialising in grilled fish dishes, seafood platters, and fish and chips.Try some local Bruny Island oysters or Spring Bay mussels to start, followed by char-grilled fish, a seafood curry, paella or real-ale battered fish and chips. The dishes change regularly depending on what fish is available. For the non-fish eater there are steaks, char-grilled to order, as well as vegetarian and gluten free dishes. Take away food is also available.

Amazing location, great seafood, great little set up in the restaurant. The menu offers quite a wide variety of dishes suitable for everyone. I had the mixed seafood plate that was incredible. I have to say the service was pretty basic. A few tweaks with staff training and you would be the best place to be for seafood in hobart!

I recently viited Blue Eye with friends. Situated under the old silos near Salsmanca place the service was very good. Bookings will ensure you get a table as it is not a large restaurant. Nice Decor. I had the seared scallops with chips and salad. Each part of the menu was kept separate. The scallops were cooked nicely, sweet and juicy. Chips were crisp on the outside and soft inside while the salad was finely cut and tasty.

We went to Blue Eye early to take advantage of the Happy Hour Oyster Special. The oysters were good, but having grown up on Mid-Atlantic Oysters in the US, we were a bit surprised that the Tasmanian oysters were smaller than those to which we are accustomed on the East Coast of the US. We are not being critical, we just didn't know they were smaller!

We ordered The Lot, a fried seafood platter, and we enjoyed it!

Ate at Blue Eye on our first evening in Hobart. Friendly staff, very nice fresh seafood meals. We had fish of the day and it was delicious. Highly recommend a meal at the Blue Eye.

Amazing service and beautiful fresh seafood - this place did not disappoint! Me and my wife ordered a selection of different dishes including the oysters, king prawns and seafood chowder and each dish was brought out with a smile and was delish. We left very satisfied.
