Description: Blue Eye is a quality seafood restaurant on Hobart's waterfront, cooking fresh and tasty local fish and seafood. It has a modern menu specialising in grilled fish dishes, seafood platters, and fish and chips.Try some local Bruny Island oysters or Spring Bay mussels to start, followed by char-grilled fish, a seafood curry, paella or real-ale battered fish and chips. The dishes change regularly depending on what fish is available. For the non-fish eater there are steaks, char-grilled to order, as well as vegetarian and gluten free dishes. Take away food is also available.

Last minute spontaneous booking. Many other restaurants just said that they were closing. At 8pm on a Saturday night that sounded strange.
Excellent service. Very tasty. All diners with happy smiles. All dishes are well presented, light, fresh and tasty. Very happy.

Friendly and cosy restaurant with a good seafood menu. We had the seafood platter for 2 which came out over 3 courses which was a delight. A good selection of wine to choose from also.

It was raining and we were hungry so as we approached Salamanca, we found Blue Eye to be opened and decided to try it for a late lunch The service was fast and friendly and the kitchen was open. We looked at the menu and tried several small plates to share and hot drinks and we were delighted that we did as we were happy with the taste, presentation and price. From the outside the place looks small but once you are inside it has bigger area. We would be happy to come back and try other dishes.

On the strength of previous reviews we thought we would check Blue Eye out. Glad we did. Service was very personable and the food excellent. Oysters Kilpatrick were fresh, plump and well executed. Prawns and squid yum. A stand out dish was the Autumn slaw with quinoa. Refreshing, crunchy and so good. Prices very reasonable. A sure fire winner.
