“Stay underground and beat the heat”
Reviewed 19 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

Sorry we missed you Ken and Anna but we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at the Underground B & B. What a perfect set-up to experience Coober Pedy, a day touring in the heat then back to the cool comfort underground. Our friends from Germany couldn't believe the experience. Many thanks to on-site staff and hope to see you again one day soon.

“Absolutely loved it !!”
Reviewed 27 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Our first visit to Coober Pedy and of course our first time staying in underground accommodation. Anna and Ken are two of the nicest people you will meet. Extremely friendly and welcoming they create a very relaxed environments for their guests. Their home has been beautifully fitted out and the attention to detail is fantastic. Fabulous bedrooms, living and outdoor areas. Such a brilliant place to come home to at the end of a busy day exploring the fascinating Coober Pedy district. The peace and quiet is amazing.

“Quirky and Fun”
Reviewed 10 November 2014 for a stay in March 2014

I have to admit, my husband wasn't keen on Coober Pedy, and I had to sell him on the "Opal Capitol". It's not an easy destination to get to - in the middle of nowhere. We had to take a long bus ride, because we didn't rent a car and drive a billion hours alone. There's no major flights there either.

In the end, Coober Pedy was one of the great highlights of our month long trip to Australia. A day long excursion from Ken, and enjoying the wonderful inn he runs with his wife, made it worth the effort to get there.

It is worth every dime to hire out Ken as your guide for the day. He was an expert guide. He showed us his opal mine, some of the town highlights, and the farther outback. If you want quirky and fun, he definitely will deliver!!

The room was clean and cool and fly-free. What they say about the flies in the outback are true. It had great amenities like a full kitchen and bbq grill. This is more of a vacation rental than B & B.

Ken and his wife were entertaining hosts, loaded with character and friendliness. They personally added so much to our Coober Pedy experience, I couldn't imagine it better had we stayed elsewhere. It was so much fun, and we had a great experience.

“Can't to go back!”
Reviewed 7 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We were greeted in the parking area by Rose who took us through the unit and explained the workings. She recommended the best restaurant in town to visit, tom and Mary's Greek tavern, a must. We had a great stay but way too short. Alex was great too taking us to see a new dug out being built. It is a very relaxing place, quiet and just out of town. The stewed fruit and other supplies for breakfast were beautiful. Rose was kind enough to share the recipe for the fruit. Hopefully we will get back here one day.
