Underground might be nice, rooms are good but of course they have no windows! At least they are quiet. The above ground rooms are not soundproof. They are also a tad second rate in that they need upgrading. Tired is the word.

The bar is expensive, and it is tired as well. However, the breakfast being an inclusion, was of good quality even though the breakfasts do not start until 0700, a bit of a hindrance if you are heading north for a 7/8 hour drive.

Room Tip: If you are staying here only go underground, above ground is tired and not sound proof

My wife and I had a two night stay at this place. We has an underground room. The service was good and friendly. Room was large and clean. Bed was comfortable. Could not fault the place and would stay again.

Reception staff very friendly when I phoned direct - then allowed me to change booking to a day earlier than originally planned with out a drama.

Undergroung bedroom well presented but unfortunately did not have good sound insulation and had to put up with noisy neighbours partying. Bed comfy and room quite spacious with everything we required..

Breakfast was included and so it should be at $190 per night but the breakfast venue itself felt cold and uninviting, maybe that was due to it being mid winter and it might have more appeal in summer. There was a self serve toast, fruit, cereal and coffee/tea area plus hot food could be ordered from the staffed counter nearby.

The location is good with an easy walk to shops and restaurnts nearby,

Room Tip: underground for the unique Coober Pedy experience

Stayed in the Dessert Cave hotel for 2 nights in one of the underground rooms. Thought it would be claustrophobic but surprisingly it was not. Very airy and bright. Only down side was all ni one shampoo and conditioner did not have much conditioner. Also felt meals in resturant a bit expensive for what you got but otherwise a pleasant stay

A must do, underground rooms cut out of the rock, cool, comfortable way to experience an amazing part of audtralia

Room Tip: Above and below grounds, depends what you are wanting to experience. If you want total darkness, this is for you.
