This was more like an experience than just going out for dinner. It is a degustation where you get 24-ish tastings of locally sourced food. We chose the food and wine pairing degustation and it cost nearly $700 (for two people). Every meal that is served is fully described so you know where the food comes from and how it is prepared/cooked. What they do with the ingredients is truly very clever and skilful - and certainly yummy. We were both very full by the end of the evening.
Personally, I found the evening a little tedious. It is difficult to converse over dinner when you are continually interrupted and described your next tasting. We were happy to see the last few dishes served.
This is a completely personal point of view though - the food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. My irritation is not in any way a reflection of the service or the quality of food - if you like that sort of thing, you'll love it. It is a similar experience to the Magill Estate Restaurant.
Great food and service but not somewhere to go for a romantic dinner.
