We were looking for a Friday evening dinner venue and decided to try this place as we have heard a lot about this place.
As per our prior arrangement we arrived at 7am. The interior was nice and we were taken to our table.
As we sat down we could get the amazing smell from our adjacent table and we became hungry instantly. The menu was quite elaborate and took us some time to decide what we are going to have.
Drinks were served with the pita and dip platter and then around 20 minutes later our starters arrived: Chargrilled octopus and white bait. The octopus was nicely chargrilled with a balance of flavour but just one skewer for $18 was a bit overpriced. On the other hand the portion size for the white bait was huge.
By the time we were done with the starters and mains about an hour has passed by when the waitress walked to us saying they ran out of bugs, about 40 minutes after placing the order! Seriously, in a Friday evening you rock up at a place at 7 pm and place an order by 7:20 to hear that "sorry we have sold out" and that too when you were just about to be served.
I was really looking forward to the bugs and that really disappointed me. Then started the worst part of the service where we have to ask twice to refill out drinks and table water and never ever any apologies were offered for the wait.
The food was amazing and couldn't fault but it was not complete with a service like that. Portions compared to prices were okay in most of the cases and we didn't mind paying that much considering the food was so nicely cooked and presented.
Will I go back to the place? Probably not unless I get the uncontrollable craving for few of their dishes.

Love this restaurant. Very small and unfortunately has 2 sittings which i do not find enticing, however, the food is great and the service is always good. it is pricey - but the serves are a good size and the fish/ seafood is fresh and well cooked. Always happy to go back.

After poor prior experiences from the specialist seafood restaurants in Gouger Street it was interesting to see the TA recommendation for an alternate seafood venue in the Hutt street precinct. Situated at the southern end of the strip Louca's is a modern small shop front accommodating 10 - 12 tables only. We were a party of 8 & had pre booked. The focus here is fresh seafood with the raw food on display for your perusal. My wife & I shared a dozen Coffin Bay oysters natural & Kilpatrick. The oysters were freshly shucked, plump & delicious so much so that we regretted not ordering the full dozen each. For main I chose a King George whiting battered with grilled Baramundi. A good combination of high quality seafood. Wines here are very reasonably priced with good options available in the $30 range. Our server for the evening was informative & courteous & had no issues dealing with a group of 8. We spent $165/ couple & thought the value exceptional. We highly recommend but don't forget to book ahead or you could be disappointed.

Last night we visited Louca's after searching seafood restaurants in Adelaide and reading the reviews.

I would highly recommend coming here.

We booked in for the second seating 730pm. The wait staff were very friendly and informative when we asked what dishes were their most popular.

We ordered the Jewels of the Sea and Oysters 2 ways. Our waitress recommended the Louca oysters which were devine and the natural oysters were massive. YUM!!! Fresh and plump... The main we had the 3 different seafoods done three ways- which in hindsight one of us should of had them just cooked char grilled as it was all deep fried apart from the scallop skewers. (But was still very nice!)

We chose a South Australian Sav Blanc which complimented the seafood well.

I think the prices were very good.
Glad we got to try here on our weekend to SA!
