We stayed here four nights whilst in Adelaide. The Chifley needs a revamp as its quite dated, particularly the rooms. The foyer is large and comfortable. The staff were pleasant but not over helpful or friendly. One staff member whilst I was asking him information about our bearings in the city, eatery’s and tours kept using his computer and not making eye contact, let alone connecting verbally.
The rooms are spacious, large enough bed, clean, very hot water in bathroom. Bathroom needs attention with it being quiet old. We had a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the park, which was good for natural light, but at times the crowd of unsightly, loud persons was not good to hear and see, so the door that opened onto balcony couldn’t be left opened too long.
Breakfast was a continental style, but adequate for its price. A laundry is available to use at a cost for the machines and powder.
The location is okay for getting to and from the tram stop. It’s at least a good 10-15 minute walk out of the CBD.
Close to a fabulous hotel the Astor and a great Cafe Crave 443.More
