Nice city view room which was clean and pleasant. Breakfast was to be expected with all fresh fruit, veg and baked goods. Bar was not that great and if it weren't a public holiday, would have went somewhere else in the city.

Location of the hotel is fabulous next to the river promenade on one side and conventional centre on other
The rooms ar great but all furniture and infrastructure is completely outdated
The air conditioning system got specific smell of burnt cables or ther burnt electric motors
There is no way to get fresh air as there is no windows
Furniture is old and full of scratches
Good For shirt business trip as they have fully equipped GYM and pool

Yes, the hotel is dated, circa the 80's, not the best design years ever but that is quickly dispelled by the excellent service we encountered at the Intercontinental Adelaide, during our 3 night break over Easter. From the warm welcome and fast check-in to the quality buffet breakfast in the morning, it was a delight to stay here. The female concierge booked a trip for us with great ease. Duc organised our drinks with great flair. We also enjoyed the best showers ever!
The hotel was well positioned with the tram at the front door which we utilised to explore the central markets and the lovely Glenelg. It was also convenient to the footy oval and lovely walks around the river.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

We booked two nights in this hotel and it ended up being a complete nightmare.

We left our room and upon our return there was someone else's bags in our room. Upon calling the front desk, the bags were collected with no explanation at all.

Then in the middle of the night the guest who’s bags had been left in our room, tried to gain access. Being two females on our own, being woken in the middle of the night this was quite a frightening experience.

Upon check out the Manager who we spoke to was of absolutely no assistance, offered no apology, refused to accept any kind of responsibility, was rude and her responses were absolutely unacceptable, probably one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered.

It was only later that we found out that housekeeping had apparently provided access to our room to the other guest whilst we were not there.
Absolutely unacceptable given our belongings were in the room, it is just lucky that nothing was stolen.

We ended up speaking with another Manager, after leaving the hotel, who was actually helpful and offered a full refund.
Sadly too little too late as our view of the hotel, thanks to the Manager at check out, had been severely tarnished.

On top of this, rooms are badly outdated and need serious upgrades.

Never again! And I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone else either.

Welcoming staff greeted us and arranged parking. Helped us with our bags, making the check in easy. Pleased with our Riverview room...good view of surrounds below.. Had tea downstairs before going across to Adelaide Oval...nice Beef Burger and chips! Breakfast next morning as part of deal was very yummy....great choice of food and helpful staff ...nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend Intercontinental Hotel as a great place to stay ...very convenient to sport, shopping and transport.

Room tip: Ask for river view room
