“Room Service - No Thanks”
Reviewed 22 October 2012

I am currently staying at Hilton on business. There is a Ports conference about to begin this week and I checked in today 22 October. I am a regular visitor to Adelaide and tried the Hilton as a change where the conference is located.

Staff were freindly, reception efficient and the bell boy was excellent. Room King deluxe room was clean - generally satisfactory. Location is good. Bar snacks slightly expensive.

Room service food was disappointing, I could not eat the soup of the day- taste was awful - sent it back. The ceasar salad was average. Did not enjoy the meal at all. I am a regular traveller and the room service food quality is below standard. A pity - liked the hotel otherwise.

See above comment :) True Old fashioned service with a smile no matter what you asked for all staff were fantastic during my stay .
If I was to have to visit again even if renovations are not complete my experience was perfect . Due to flying in for a funeral 5 days break/work still I felt right at home and the last time I was in this hotel it was early 1990's . Huge thank you for making my stay as pleasant as it could be under the circumstances I will always recommend this hotel to anyone that is a client of my clinic . Wish I was still there to enjoy and big thanks to concierge Mark 27 yrs and still loving his job now that is amazing well done to all keep up the good work everyone

I travel to adelaide for work quite regularly and stayed at Hilton for the first time recently and enjoyed it so much that I have now made it my regular hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very dark at night which I, as a light sleeper, appreciated! You can get room service from the restaurant downstairs which was fantastic as was the buffet breakfast the next morning. The only things that detract are the valet parking situation - there's really not enough room at the front of the hotel for the volume of cars and you can't enter in a number for the tv channels and you must flick through all channels at a very slow pace to get to the one required. Only minor complaints and will be back next month!

Dear Ackal,

Thank you for your feedback in regards to your recent stay with us.

I was delighted to read your positive comments in regards to your room and I am pleased that you were able to experience the buffet breakfast in the Brasserie Restaurant. Our Chefs take pride in creating some fine dishes using local produce found in South Australia.

We do have access to a nearby car park where all cars are taken when valet parked. When the cars are requested by guests they are brought around to the front of the hotel for collection. I also appreciate your feedback in regards to the televisions in the room which will be taken into consideration.

I look forward to welcoming you back to Hilton Adelaide on your future business trips.

Stayed one night and was very happy with the room and location. Bathroom was great, especially with one of those fancy ceiling showers ooh la la! Hop skip and jump to road with loads of cheap Asian food (my fave). Only downside was the small cafe called The Deli I think, had very limited selection to choose from. Only bircher muesli or a croissant in the cabinet. However a nice alternative for those who don't like the massive buffet breakfast at $40 per person, so I was grateful it was there. The bircher muesli was great!!

Another hotel in our 25th Wedding anniversary tour of Australia, We stayed in this hotel back in 2007 and were impressed then so we decided to use it agian, our room was located at the back of the hotel, the view is not brilliant as you overlook the roof of the central market and the roof of Coles. One good point is that we got to see some brilliant sunsets on the 4 days that we were there. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times the foods was good and quite a bit of it was sourced locally according to the menu. The hotel is very central to the city so it is quite easy to get around. If you want to go out to eat visit Gouger street which is next to the hotel as there is a wide choice of restaurants to choose from. Many thanks for the bottle of champagne that arrived soon after we had checked in.

Room Tip: I would ask for room located at the front of the hotel for views overlooking Victoria square and the...
