Great little Island getaway. If you are after a very quiet getaway and don't mind cooking your own food then this is the island for you. You can order your food through the provisions store. Plenty to do fish, walk, snorkle, kayak or go on a tour. The only negative about the island is you gotta buy booze from the island and is expensive. Don't fly to Hamilton Island and get transfer from there can work out to be very expensive 1 way if you are the only person on the boat $300. Come from Airlie Beach It's like $80.

stayed in one of the beach villas, very clean, spacious, AC, right on the beach front. you cant argue with the accommodation, was great. BBQ area with all the utensils provided. decking to sit out on. kayaks to use, walks to go on, salt pool to use. all great.

But paying over $200 per night, you kind of expect clean towels, your room to be made up, and a decent warm shower. You do not get any of these things. they say they cant provide these because they are an 'eco resort' - but having looked at the definition of this, i think it might be an excuse to not provide these things.

Customer care: workers driving around noisily on buggies carrying tools and equipment can get tedious. and when a camera crew start making a racket out the front of your villa, without any warning or apology, its a bit annoying. to top it off, when you have just paid $18 for a cocktail and sat down to enjoy the scenery...3 workers start clattering around with chairs and tables discussing the options for the party or whatever it is they are catering for that evening is just not acceptable. i had to pick myself up and move to a quieter area. no apology. no explanation. If they cared about their customers it would be so much better.

The prices are also beyond ridiculous, $18 for a cocktail....but dont worry you can choose from 3 'special drinks' in "happy hour" for $15...such a great discount! They say that its because of the costs of importing the stuff, but ive had much cheaper drinks in the Madives and thats further away to import! the pina colada, was 80% coconut cream.

would i recommend this place? i guess so. as i said you cant argue with the location and accommodation. but the prices and customer care kind of take the edge off it.

We loved staying at Palm Bay resort. The villa was well appointed; the most perfect location. The pool, kitchen, restaurant area & bar were good. The self catering was new to us but really worked and we enjoyed the community feel that cooking together achieved. Whitsunday Provisions were fantastic (the bug & prawn platter was amazing) and we picked up a few extra salad/fruit ingredients in Airlie before heading over on the boat. Marco behind the bar was a highlight - fantastic cocktails - his apple sour was my favourite! We enjoyed the kayaking, tennis and walks and the hammock on our deck. Also had a fantastic massage. Highly recommend staying here to completely unwind.

So amazing! It's such a beautiful escape!
We were greeted on the shore from our water taxi and our bags were taken to our home while we were given a tour of the resort. They had a refreshing drink waiting for us as it was warm outside. Our house was beautiful with an amazing view of the Ocean. We were visited daily by the cockatoos on the porch. We enjoy kayaking , snorkeling and we took a tour that the resort Oregon nice for us to Whitehaven beach which was spectacular! I definitely want to come back!!!
