I surprised my husband with a 5 night getaway for his 60th birthday. We had a wonderful time here and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the island and surrounds. I booked a helicopter and a hamper for a trip to Whitehaven and the staff went out of their way to make sure my husbands 60th was most memorable.

Room Tip: We chose a daydream suite, very spacious and a beautiful view.

Great resort in the whitsundays stayed for two nights and considering the size of the island around (1 km) lots to do. The forest trail is very nice with good views at the top. They have a beautiful glass chapel here for weddings. Lots of kangaroos roaming around. Two big pools lots of water activites but you are restricted at the areas you can do them in sadly. Food in the buffett restaurant was excellent dinner and breakfast time. The meal we had in the restaurant on the other island was so so and it really needs some air con over there was so muggy! Rooms very nice 4 star uk standard.

Living reef experience is a must so good!! learnt alot about the marine life and got to feed baby sharks and hold starfish.

Top tip go to the lovers cove beach in the morning it's made from coral but as long as you have a stinger suit has the best marine life parrott fish come right up to the shore. Really was something special. They often close it to public in the afternoons due to weddings.

We visited the island on a day trip outing from our cruise ship. We were looking forward to white sand beaches and a bit of tropical paradise, but the beaches are mostly made up of bits of coral--we never saw any sand, though we heard there was a sandy beach at one end of the island. The pools are very nice, and there are lots of chaise lounges to relax in. Ran into several groups of wallabies, which was fun. There is a forest trail from one end of the island to the main hotel area, which has great views over the nearby islands. It was the off-season, so none of the shops were open. Our tour included a buffet lunch, which was fine--we were a bit spoiled by cruise ship food, but the buffet had enough selections and a good salad section. The overall impression of the resort, though, is that it needs an update--it felt rundown and a bit threadbare in uplaces. We were told that the new owners of the resort are planning to do a major refurbishing. We were there just before the March cyclone, and heard that it did a lot of damage, so the upgrade may come a bit sooner.
