Charge our tour guide was great! You could see he really loved what he was doing and it showed. Super friendly, very knowledgeable and all round nice guy.
As for the resort, well it’s joke. The staff there showed no interest in creativing a lastly experience. To be honest he was very rude. And the island itself is highly over priced!

Although there are lots of nice things to do on Fraser Island, I wouldn’t recommend the Nomads tour for everyone under the age of 22-23. Meals are cooked by your teammates, without drinks, desserts or often plates (!) and there is a distinct lack of soap available for hand-washing. I think a lot also depends on your tour guide, and Steve just got the feel of our group wrong and it all felt a bit cringey and frustrating. Not recommended, especially for the high cost.

Hello Megan,

Let me begin by saying I'm sorry you did not feel this tour was right for you. Please allow me to address your concerns point by point:

As with the majority of Fraser Island Tag Along style safaris, the group is responsible for preparing the food. Groups will alternate between food preparation and cleaning. You will only be asked to do this for two meals max if in a full group. It's all part of the Fraser Safari experience and aids in bringing the group closer.

With regards to the plates, we provide plates for each meal. Why were there no plates available to you during the meal? Did you ask your guide if he had any plates available for you?

As explained in our advertising, water is included but any sort drinks, juice, or alcoholic beverages can be purchased separate on the trip. This is very standard for all Fraser Tag Along Safaris. Dessert is also rarely included.

I'm sorry you did not believe Steve got the wrong feel of the group. We repeatedly receive high marks on feedback from guests about Steve as a guide. I'll admit he does have a cheesy sense of humor, but most find it charming if not just a bit silly. Was there anything he said that was particularly offensive or off-putting?

Thank you for the feedback as this is the only way we are able to improve the quality of our trip. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to email me directly.

Kind Regards,

Great experience!! We stayed the night before at the nomads hostel. If you don’t expect too much of this accommodation it will be fine. Driving in a 4x4 was so much fun. We were with a lot of drivers but everyone got the chance to drive. Our guide Steve
was great. We definitely recommend this trip.

The best experience I’ve had in Australia so far! I absolutely loved going to and staying on Fraser Island, as well as learning about the history of the island. It was a great experience to drive 4x4s on the sand too! We stayed in tipis which was a chilly and wondering experience to be able to wonder to the beach and watch the stunning night sky and see all of the stars! The food was good while we were there and the facilities at the resort were fine too! Had the best time and met some awesome people, would do the trip again in a heart beat!

We went on the three days two nights tour with nomads and stayed in a tipi. The only bad thing about this trip is the nomads hostel that you stay in Noosa before and after the trip! It’s loud and pretty dirty..(although they do good social nights at the bars such as beer pong and quiz nights).

But everything else was great! As soon as we got in the bus and were picked up by our tour guide Steve, he made the journey fun and informative. As for the sharing of cars when we arrived, he was very careful that everyone got their fair share of driving.

It’s a busy two days with lots of getting up early and driving around the island to see all the main spots and making sure we get back to the bottle shop before 530. Everyone shares cooking duty’s and they cater for dietary requirements really well.

We found the tour really social and friendly, shout out to Steve for a great trip! Even the tipis weren’t that bad at this time of year but I would advise people to bring warm clothes for the night time.
