Hi,

First of all I want to say the Fraser Island is a beautiful place and I had a great time being shown around by Wes from Sunrover Tours. I went on a 2 day tour to Fraser from Brisbane with a group of 8 people camping. The trip up to Fraser was amazing going through Noosa and along the beach up to Rainbow Beach and then on the ferry across to Fraser Island. We were lucky as tides dictate the route that can be taken, lucky for us the tides were low. Once we got up onto Fraser Island we drove up the eastern surf beach to the camp grounds. Sunrover's camp grounds are excellent with hot showers and cooking facilities right on the beach. The first day we went to Lake Wabby (the green lake) which was amazing. Like nothing I had ever seen before. It is a beautiful green oasis in the middle of the desert. The walk there is really interesting and makes the water feel even better when you arrive. It was then back to camp for dinner, drinks, music and socialising. The next day with a weary head we traveled to central station and Lake Mckenzie which was just what was needed, lake Mckenzie is the perfect hangover cure. This is truly one of the most pristine places I have ever seen. After swimming for an hour we then moved onto to Central station for a walk through the rainforest, this was beautiful with the cool air, crystal clear water and massive king ferns. After our walk we quenched our hunger and thirsts with a picnic lunch. After lunch we visited lake Boomajin (the red lake) and then made our way back to the ferry to Rainbow beach. After a great 2 days and very tired we made our way back to Brisbane. A great trip, great people and beautiful scenery. Highly recommended!!!!
