Had early dinner here vegetarian nachos, and 4 tacos. Food arrives promptly, nachos a good serving with great flavours and combination of corn chips to the beans caucamole sour cream and cheese
Tacos very good 2 chicken 2 fish the chicken the standout great combination of flavours, textures and tasty.
Views are great looking across towards the ocean. Prices here are on the high side for this style of food, service was very friendly helpful with choices and efficient would definately go back.

We simply wanted a casual, unhurried, and unpretentious dinner with a view of the ocean, and that's exactly what we got at Gringo Loco Cantina.

The restaurant is located on The Esplanade in Surfers Paradise, just to the left where Cavill Avenue hits the beachfront (facing the beach). It's one of a number of restaurants on this little stretch, so if you are wandering (like we were) without reservations, there's some choices for you. We chose Gringo Loco Cantina for a number of reasons: it was the busiest of all; it had lots of outside seating (albeit under cover), with seats with a good view of the ocean available; and most importantly, the food on the diners' plates looked good!

We didn't expect 'haute cuisine' by any means, nor did we expect the regional specialities and exotic flavours you would probably get if you were on a road trip in Mexico. We got standard classic Mexican dishes familiar to many. For starters we enjoyed street-style char-grilled sweet corn cobs, and stuffed and breaded jalapeño peppers. Mains were chicken fajitas and chorizo queso quesadillas. Everything was fresh, nicely prepared, piping hot, and full of Mexican flavours. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. There were vegetarian options available, though I'm not sure about gluten-free options.

Service was consistent, and helpful. We weren't hurried, even though the restaurant was very busy. Would we return? Certainly!

Shared the yummy naked burrito and chicken wings (a little spicy but finger licking good!). More than enough quantity and quality. Spot on recommendations - thank you!

Also, would come back just for the good coffee - another pleasant surprise!

Very good service but not very tasty food. Rather expencive in compare with nearby places. But if you like mexican food you could try.
