Stayed here for 3 nights for recent conference. My reservation got messed up and while I had requested an ocean view room with 2 beds, apparently I did not catch than my confirmation stated a king bed, which wouldn't work for me and my teenaged son. The hotel's first response was that it was too bad, for two beds I'd have to go into a standard room on a lower floor with no view while still paying the higher rate because rates were higher now than when I originally booked. Was not satisfied with that and, to their credit, the hotel managed to work it out and give me an ocean view room with two beds as I wanted. That was the good news. The other good news was a very nice breakfast buffet every morning.
The room itself had a terrific view, but was otherwise mediocre. The carpet was stained, the decor pretty nonexistent, the robes were scratchy and not soft enough to be comfortable. The hotel is a few blocks from the beach, which is also nice. Otherwise, the neighborhood seemed drab - at least the parts that I saw. I believe there are nicer areas of Surfer's Paradise which I saw from the windows of a tour bus I took to see the glow worm caves, but just didn't experience them firsthand.
Overall, this is not a place I would probably stay if I was going to SP for fun, but I was there for an event so just stayed where the event was. That said, the place is not very expensive, and I did not really expect too much more for the value.
