With only four days left in Port Douglas, My girlfriend and I managed to get on a morning charter out to the inner reefs with perfect glass out conditions. The boat was in great shape and had plenty of space and travelled well even with the six of us and the skipper on board a shared charter.

The skipper Paul was very personable, friendly and professional, sharing his previous life experiences as the captain of commercial vessels out of the bass strait was fascinating to hear about, and did his best to get the boat into, and keep on the action. Although the coral trout and nannygai we both caught were just under legal size. The fishing was non stop with various reef fish being caught by everyone, and a fair share of fish being taken home for the table.
I hooked onto a shark that took a few leaps out of the water before busting me off and was definitely a thrill that I hadn't experienced before

We enjoyed it that much that we tried to get out again in the last couple of days before we left, mind you my girlfriend is not an avid fisher and she was more than keen to get out on the water again! Unfortunately they were booked out! Don't do what we did and leave it till the last minute!

My partner, a friend and I went out on Out n About Sportfishing shared charter and loved the experience. Paul our Skipper was polite, professional and knowledgeable.
He took his time in finding spots with fish and also showed us how he finds them on the sounder. We have been on a few charters out of cairns for full day charters and had a better experience on half a day with Paul then any other. We will definitely be back for more charters, hopefully really soon! :)
