I didn't have a vehicle, however, found a flyer at airport for a bus ride from Cairns to Port Douglas. Pick up at your hotel in a.m. Can spend as much time exploring Port Douglas or sign up for one of their tours. When you are done they will take you back.

It was a lovely drive along the water up north to Port Douglas. Made a few stops for others along the way. Plan on at least 40 minutes. But no hurry! Got to see what other resort towns I'd enjoy going back to, Palm Cove was one! A delightful little place with cozy beach, cafes, restaurants and lots of places to stay-next time.

Bus stop is located right in middle of this little town - beach on one end and marina on other. Easy walking!

Marina had a few tours you could take, nice little indoor mall with restaurants and restrooms. Had a delightful bite at The Lure restaurant, tea and scones breakfast-yummy. Sit outside and enjoy the harbor!

St Mary's by the Sea church was a lovely spot. Over by Dickson inlet and a wharf area.

The beach was only a few blocks from bus depot. A long stretch, 4 miles and quiet.

Town is about 4-5 blocks long lines with boutiques, restaurants, bars, ice cream, touristy places. Decided to stop at Central Hotel and sit out on their big veranda, have pizza and enjoy just watching life. Very good pizza and great service! A great sorbet from a very busy ice cream shop by the bus depot and I'm good!

I'm sure I could've stayed longer, but was looking forward to the ride back along the coast back to my resort , next time! Last bus was at 5-but easily changed for space on the 3pm bus.

A delightful, easy day!!

Brilliant tour with an excellent guide. We crossed over with the ferry into another world and we loved the boat trip where we viewed the crocodile. We we received lots of interesting information on tropical rain forests

Lunch was at a very tranquil place and included a good selection of fresh salads.

The pick up was on time and hassle free and we got back to Cairns without problems

We went with my wife for a one day tour in the Daintree rainforest. Our guide, Mick, was a great guy, with an incredible knowledge about plant. We had a very nice moment, the lunch in the private creek was amazing, a small paradise in the rainforest. We definitely recommend it!

I'm sure BTS don't need telling again what an asset Mick is to their Daintree trip, but I'll say it anyway. He clearly loves his chosen subject and spent the day sharing so many interesting nuggets of information about the beautiful Daintree area that even the three under-tens in our group were agog. That coupled with a wonderful trip to a fantastic area and a superb variety of activities made for one of the best days out we've had. It's hard to pick a highlight, but the kids loved the turtles and the canoeing and we all enjoyed the rainforest walk. Can't recommend this trip highly enough.

We booked a day trip to visit the Daintree Rainforest and it has been a most wonderful experience. Everything was superbly organized, including the lunch, which we had in the middle of the forest, with the possibility of swimming and paddling too. Our guide, Mike, was very knowledgeable and inspirational. A day packed with information!
