We set off from Port Douglas for a sunset cruise not knowing that the water was quite rough. It might have been better if we were advised of the weather beforehand. We had the skipper and 2 young crew - 1 learning. We think there should have been more staff. There seemed to be problems with rigging and on return we did loops before entering the marina. We then hit something very hard resulting in a couple of minor injuries. No real interaction from staff. Canapés were good though.

A superb trip to the outer reef on Aquarius. Super friendly and helpful crew on board (Riley, Bella and Nick - thank you!). We had perfect conditions and the reef wonderful. The water temperature was perfect thanks Riley !!

From start to finish this trip out to the reef was just perfect. Great crew, small group and a good facilities on board. Coffee on boarding, morning tea while anchored and snorkelling and lunch served as we set off on the return. I do not suffer from seasickness but my wife does. it was a calm day with a gentle swell but she says she would have been unwell without a travel tablet.. Unless you are sure about your tolerance for the motion of a large sailing catamaran just take something before you leave otherwise there is a high probability your day will be spoiled.

A gorgeous cruising catamaran for going on a sunset cruise. Very roomy & comfortable with indoor & outdoor seating. It was great being able to take your own drinks but you could also purchase aboard, Canapes were served during the cruise. A great night out.

My husband an I took a sunset cruise on Aquarius a few weeks ago. The cruise was for about 1 1/2 hours so just a loop out and around the Port Douglas area. Having been on the Calypso reef tour a few days earlier, I wasn't sure what to expect. It turned out to be a totally different experience, just very relaxing, as we sat back and sipped our drinks and chatted to the lovely people in our immediate vicinity, while watching the ocean go by! I think these friendly people 'made' our tour the enjoyable experience that it was. The view of the cloud topped mountains, and the sunset were quite lovely.
Food provided was adequate and nice enough, tho perhaps could have been presented a little better - maybe on a platter, rather than out of a plastic 'decor' container. Passengers could take their own drinks, including alcoholic ones, plastic glasses were supplied.
It did seem that the demographic was generally older people who maybe couldn't do any other water activities such as diving or snorkelling.
The tour was reasonably priced for what you got, fortunately we had a $20 discount each, having toured with the same company a few days earlier.
Would I do it again - yes, but when I am much older and can't do the snorkelling.
