“Fantastic ambience - very relaxing”
Reviewed 31 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This B&B unit is separate from the main building and offers privacy with a wonderful view across the pool and its surrounding vegetation. Your hosts, Maria and Barry are there if you need them to offer advice on the sightseeing options and restaurants in the area. Your ample breakfast of seasonal fruit, jams, juice, bread, etc., appears when you are out and housekeeping is a daily routine. The free Wi-Fi was fast. The pool is outside your door and the beach is only 50 metres away. The tranquillity and peacefulness is unsurpassed. We had a wonderful week.

“Perfectly named…Paradise indeed”

Reading previous reviews we were not surprised to find that Paradise Villa lived up to our expectations, and more. If your idea of heaven is to be the only guests of very helpful hosts, to enjoy a beautifully and thoughtfully decorated room and where you can plan your day over breakfast ( a great choice of breakfast food supplied) on your patio overlooking your own pool and a verdant tropical garden, then Paradise Villa is for you. Situated at the ‘quiet’ end of Port Douglas, Paradise Villa is a quick 5 minute drive, a very pleasant 20 minute bike ride or a leisurely 45 minute walk along the beach into town.
The very best things about Paradise Villa

• The spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated main room. This large room doubles as bedroom and living area, which has a really comfy bed, a down filled lounge, brand new TV/dvd player, small fridge, microwave and bench area. It has all the utensils and crockery you need to prepare a simple salad or heat take away meals. Paradise Villa doesn’t claim to have full kitchen facilities so we were surprised it had so much. A basket of fruit that was replenished daily was an extra treat.

• The patio with table and comfy chairs. We ate all our meals outside and were able to move the chairs to sit beside the pool and enjoy the sun. Beach towels were supplied.

• Maria and Barry were perfect hosts. They were not intrusive in any way but endlessly helpful. The room was serviced while we were out each day so we always returned to a beautifully made bed and fresh towels. Breakfast dishes were whisked away and returned to the cupboard.

We spent five gloriously relaxing days as guests of Maria and Barry and hope to return some day.

“Truly a paradise; comfortable, clean, spacious and quiet.”
Reviewed 20 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Paradise Villa is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed and the owner Maria really knows how to provide for every need. She arranged our airport transfers and was in the carport with the lights on to great us upon our arrival at 8 pm. After giving us a tour of our room and amenities she offered to make two phone calls for us to take care of . She asked if we would like a drink and brought us a couple of beers (this is not an included service so maybe I shouldn't mention it but it is just one more example of how attentive Maria is to making her place wonderful.) She has made several offers to drive us into town or to meet our tours, even though there is a very convenient shuttle bus stopping just steps away from the villa.
The room, patio, and pool are immaculately clean. The bathroom is like new...not a speck of mildew or stained plumbing. We have our own laundry area with washer, cloths line and dryer provided. The only slightly strange thing is that the toilet is in a separate little room with no sink. But it is really not a problem. The sink and a very large tub and shower are with the laundry and are steps from the toilet room which is 3 steps from the bedroom door. This is no problem at all but I thought it worthy of mention as you have to unlock the sliding glass door and walk outside to use the facilities...the whole are is completely covered and as I said the toilet room is just 3 steps across the outside hall which is tiled and the room itself has a locking door.
The whole area is so private. We had breakfast out on the patio by the pool. Pineapple, tangerine, Kiwi, papaya, cantaloupe, apple, etc. Toast, cereal, muesli, juices, milk, coffee, tea, yogurt, and something we never had before called Tim Tam (yummy chocolate coated biscuit).
Perfect location. About a 3 minute walk to the gorgeous 4 mile beach. We heard the waves in our room at night. The pool is like an oasis.
Lots of closet space for hanging and shelves and drawers. Good lighting and overhead fans. A/C but we didn't need it. Plenty of outlets for charging our electronics.

This place really does feel like Paradise. We had a wonderful time here in beautiful peaceful surroundings. Maria and Barry were extremely discreet, giving us plenty of privacy. But wherever we needed anything they always made themselves available and were absolutely as helpful as can be.

The kettle, microwave and refrigerator made it easy for us to prepare our breakfast as and when we wanted it and to have chilled cider or wine at the end of a hot day. Wonderful sitting and relaxing in front of the pool and taking the occasional dip to refresh ourselves. We felt we had found one of the nicest places to stay in the whole area. Much better than the resorts we passed on the way into town.
