Walked in, walked out. Stains on the duvet sheet of the single bed and and the double bed was dirty. Immediately booked elsewhere. Had already paid up infront with no refund via bookings.com but was glad to get out of the place.

THIS IS NOT A RESORT!!!

This was my first experience staying in a backpackers resort....and I have got to say it will not be the last. This is now our "go to" accommodation in Cairns. While the place is a little dated and could definitely use a facelift, everything you need is here and nothing is missing. The kitchen is probably the only thing letting this resort down. The water in the tap was brown when I tried to use it, and the hotplate took forever to cook our food. That having been said........there is nothing else letting this place down. The room we had booked was upgraded for free, and the lady on the front desk - named Maria - could not have been more helpful and friendly. NOTHING was too much trouble for this lady and she was a wealth of information about what we needed i.e.stamps, newsagent, best places to eat. Booking a taxi for our departure to the airport was done with no fuss. Our room was spacious, clean, had everything needed and plenty of pillows were in the room for us. I usually find that this is not the case. The laundry had reasonable rates for washing/drying. $4 per load. Our shower in our room had excellent pressure and the hot water was plentiful. Thoroughly recommend this place to all. Could not find better value and position in Cairns. It is roughly 500 meters to the Esplanade and even less to Night Markets, Woolworths and shopping. Just bear in mind that there is no elevator to help with suitcases.

Room tip: Ask for a room on the first floor....above the traffic noise, but easy to transport suitcases.

Pros: the size of the room, the friendly staff that help us Booking the transportation back to the airport, it's quiet, and close to stores and restaurants. Cons: You dont have the maid service, there is not safe in the rooms

This was the first time I had ever stayed at a backpackers resort. I had a private room. It was very spacious and had a living room, a large bathroom and a queen sized bedroom. It was very comfortable. The communal kitchen was spotless. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I am glad I gave it a chance and stayed there. I was also very fortunate to find affordable last minute accommodation during the school holidays. AND the location was perfect for using as a base and walking around Cairns.

A great place for backpackers, very accommodating to travel plans! Cheap price for a share dorm, with PRIVATE bathroom and toilet, and they clean our dorm every day. Staff only work on reception for certain hours but when they do they are extremely helpful and friendly. Their courtyard is great and the people staying there are really nice. It was pretty chill and relaxing overall. Also perfect location, close to everywhere in Cairns. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend it to all the travelers !
