It should be a great thing for tourists to do in the middle of the city when they are short of time. it used to be very good, but now it looks tired and scruffy. Still, if you want to see Australian animals and you can't get to the Tropical Zoo or Habitat, it's better than nothing. Go at the designated feeding times..

“A casino should do better”
Reviewed 26 March 2012

To be on top of a gorgeous casino, one would expect a semi decent wildlife dome. Not the case here. There were a lot of birds but not much else. I've visited other domes around the world and this one was the worst. I felt really bad for the animals living there. It isn't maintained well and the poor koalas, croc, lizards and snakes just looked so sad. Save you money and see real wildlife at the reef or in the jungle.

“Zoo with a view”
Reviewed 22 March 2012

Not that much to see and quite expensive. A couple of small crocs, a few lizards, a couple of koalas and then mainly birds. You can see evertyhing in half an hour.

“More fun than I expected”
Reviewed 14 March 2012

I wasn't expecting much when we visited the Wildlife Dome so I was pleasantly surprised at the staff and their level of knowledge. You can get up close with a lot of native birds and animals, including crocs. A fun hour, especially if you have kids and want to keep them occupied.

“Cairns wildlife dome”
Reviewed 9 March 2012

It's in the top of the casino, and it's quite expensive for what it is (especially if you want that photo of you holding a Koala!). But it was very empty of people when we went, and we had a long educational chat with one of the keepers, which made it far more interesting.
